BA-31 was modeled after a super rare and, of course, super highly sought-after classic. BA-31 is neither clean nor transparent especially when pushed to its limits. The preamp is packed to the top with real analog power, with 40dB of fixed gain, this mic preamp model will add an old-school touch to your recordings while making the best of flexible and easy-to-use modern plugin design. BA-31 is ideally suited to be used as a microphone preamp with both ribbon classics and a range of dynamic mics. The unit also comes in quite handy when DIing guitars. History
The original behind our BA-31 was introduced in the 1960s and until the 1970s was to be found in both broadcasting and recording studios across the USA. This rare unit boasts a unique sound somewhat resembling some Neve preamp models. Originally designed as a microphone preamplifier, turntable preamplifier, or booster amplifier its signature vintage color is definitely something you don't come across every day.
