Description
STAY-LEVIN
IntroStay-Levin is one of the most versatile tube compressors ever designed. There’s nothing that this 1960s-inspired gem cannot make the sound better but put your bass or vocals through it to find out what a true analog color means.
Description
Simple design and straight-forward controls, epic looks, massive sound. Stay-Levin is a unit that shaped the sound of 1960s US radio hits. Carrying a character and color of its own, this carefully emulated vari-mu tube compressor legend will add the desired analog edge to any contemporary production. Its user-friendly front panel control set features only two knobs and two switches, but those give you a lot of depth and tone control for a surprisingly big variety of input signal types.
Stay-Levin is extremely versatile for a compressor originally designed over 60 years ago. It can drastically enhance the presence of guitar and synth leads, and thanks to its airy and smooth high-end will do drums or horns some proper good can do your drums some proper good. However, this vintage unit is one of the go-to tools when it comes down to processing bass and vocals for its unbeatable punch and natural warmth.
History
Stay-Levin is a recreation of the legendary variable-mu compressor unit that reigned supreme on the 1960s hit radio. For decades, over sixty of them to be precise, this super musical tube compressor has become a sought-after rarity in big studios around the globe. To bring this vintage gem to the modern-day user we studied its original military-grade circuitry and made sure we didn't miss a single ingredient of its expensive-sounding design – from the original triode tubes to the vintage transformer and coupling capacitors, to the push-pull output amp – it’s all there but reborn in the digital domain and more accessible and affordable than ever.
